I've found it difficult to formulate any rational counter-arguments to most of the positions espoused by His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso (Lhamo Dondrub). An amazing individual and inspirational spritual leader who lives at the intersection of the Old World (as leader and protector of Tibetan Buddhism) and the New World of Western "enlighted" society.
What other global spiritual leader is so approachable and relevant today?
From a recent Facebook posting:
"The world's major religious traditions all give the development of compassion a key role. Because it is both the source and the result of patience, tolerance, forgiveness and all good qualities, its importance is felt to extend from the beginning to the end of spiritual practice. Even without a religious perspective, love and compassion are clearly of fundamental importance to us all."
